Wildrock Family Retreat Day
April 21st from 10:00am to 2:00pm
Enjoy adventuring through the park from 10:30am-12:30pm
Followed by a picnic lunch at 12:30pm
The Ishan Gala Foundation and Wildrock (wildrock.org), a nature playscape, in the beautiful Blue Ridge Foothills, have partnered to offer a day of exploring to families who have been impacted by children’s cancer.
Wildrock’s playscape is a nearly three-acre fenced play area with mountain views, play houses, sand areas, log runs, stream play, sensory art materials, and more. Children are welcome to run and explore at their own pace and in their own way. The entire family is welcome! Social workers and volunteers will be on hand to create a welcoming and supportive environment. Activities at each play element reinforce social and emotional skills and promote family bonding. Feel free to stay and hang out at Wildrock even after the event time ends!
Your child and your whole family will be welcomed and cherished at Wildrock, a space for rejuvenation and community building. Wildrock seeks to be a joyful meet-up space for families. This event is FREE since it is for our fighting families. Ishan Gala Foundation will be providing lunch. Please be sure to include any dietary restrictions such as allergies, vegan, vegetarian, etc. on the registration when you RSVP.
What to bring:
Water bottles, hats, sunblock, bug spray, good shoes, wading boots (if you have them), extra clothes, any special snacks the kids like. Wildrock is a nature setting and as such there are inherent risks.
Please be sure to print, sign and return the Waiver form via email (email@example.com) or bring it with you on the day of the retreat.
If you have questions specific to the park please contact Carolyn Schuyler info@Wildrock.org
Any other questions please contact Ashley at firstname.lastname@example.org
Space is limited so please sign-up by April 18th.
(please note this event is only for families with a child who is currently in treatment and those that have finished treatment within the past 5 years).
We do also need volunteers for this event! Sign up below.
