About the program

The Holiday Cheer Program provides fighting families with assistance during the holidays through gift assistance, gift cards, and an exclusive ‘germ safe’ party. This year we have 28 families, with a total of 55 children and teens.

The gift assistance is unique from other programs, we ask for a wishlist from each child, including siblings, with a maximum budget of $250 per child. We then look for generous sponsors to adopt a family or child to fulfill those lists. Any child or family that is not adopted, IGF will cover the costs. We also provide wrapping supplies to the families.

The Holiday Cheer party is exclusively for fighting families receiving gift assistance. We have music, dancing, crafts, food, and a visit form Santa himself. During the party, we have our “elves” load up the families vehicles with the unwrapped gifts and make sure they are well hidden. We like to give the parents the opportunity to wrap the gifts and decide who they are from (Santa or parents).
